The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Deepak Mukut.
Therefore, while interacting with media peeps Director Anubhav Sinha states, “Essentially Mulk is a courtroom drama, a story of a family that must protect its pride. The film tries to table questions that we don’t address in the open. We like to call it a social thriller. It is not political. It is a story of you and me, about us. Our conduct. Our prejudices. Our preconceived notions- about each other. We don’t talk to each other about the problems we have with each other. But I guess everything in life is political. The film doesn’t claim to give answers but it is not impossible to find some in there. It is a story of our times. It does not try to teach you anything, it just tells you an engaging story about the people of India.”

Therefore for the same she said, “The role really became stressful for me during shooting because if you see the kind of star cast the film has, it was really became difficult for me to perform with renowned actors like Rishi Kapoor , Ashutosh Rana and other good theatre actors. I was trying my best to give the shot in single take without ant mistake”. Considering the controversial issue she added, “I don’t watch news regularly and I am not even politically active but too I know the right or wrong. And I feel really sad about Hindu-Muslim issue perception”.

This issue is very old but still have a strong impact on all of us. We should sit and solve this issue rather than doing unnecessary thing.”
