15 Years old Cyrus Chhikara makes it big in Chess, makes Faridabad proud

TODAY EXPRESS NEWS ( Ajay verma ) Cyrus Chhikara, a promising Chess Under-15 player from Manav Rachna International School, Charmswood Faridabad is selected to represent Haryana State in the forthcoming Under-15 National Chess Championship proposed to be held at Kolkota from 17th July 2018 onwards. Cyrus secured 2nd position in recently concluded Under-15 State Chess Championship held at Panchkula from 11-13th May 2018. Son of Shri Surender Chhikara, Counter Incharge of Haryana Tourism at Badkhal Faridabad, Cyrus started playing Chess at age of 7 years when he was merely in the 3rd Standard in school. Numerous awards, trophies and recognition in his kitty, Cyrus climbed to the stature of State Under-7 Champion in year 2011.  Taking the success to his stride, he never looked back thereafter and won several State Awards in various junior category championships. Giving full credit to her mother Alka Chhikara, Cyrus owes his success to her.

Following the footsteps of his elder sister, Hansi Chhikara, a South Asia level Junior Chess Player with several distinguished state and national level awards to her kitty, Cyrus learned the tricks of the game and made the entire family, friends, school, Faridabad fraternity and Haryana state proud by silently climbing ladder after ladder to become proud participant in Junior Commonwealth Games last year.
